The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) recently made changes that allow users of UHF Citizen Band (CB) radios access to more channels in the 400 MHz band. The UHF CB band has now been restructured from 40 UHF channels to 80 UHF channels and moved from 25kHz wide to 12.5kHz wide channels.

To accommodate these exciting changes Motorola have release a new range of narrowband compliant CB portable and mobile radios that are available NOW!!  Until 17th February 2012 we will be offering excellent discounts on these radios - call our sales team on 1300 852 929  for pricing.

  • CB Pro PLUS (80 CB Channels) - Frequency range: 476-477MHz - Power Output: 1W/4W
  • CP476 (80 CB Channels/5 user programmable channels) - Frequency range: 450-480MHz - Power Output: 1W/4W
  • GM Mobile (80 channels) - Frequency range: 476-477MHz - Power Output: 1W/5W

Motorola’s CB radios are affordable, simple to use, reliable and rugged.  Built to US Military specifications these radios will withstand temperature extremes, solar radiation, rain, humidity, salt, fog, dust, vibration and shock making them an ideal choice for any industrial environment.

It is important to note the following:

  • The ACMA has mandated that after 17 November 2012, 40 channel CB radios can no longer be sold.
  • In line with this the current Motorola 40 Channel portfolio will continue to be sold until the end of September 2012.
  • 25KHz 40 Channel CB can be used until 30 June 2017.
  • Motorola 40 Channel 25 KHz CB portable radios can be upgraded to make them narrowband compliant.
  • Once a 40 Channel CB radio has been upgraded to 80 Channels, this action in irreversible.
