The traditional approach to manual battery maintenance often leads to inefficient processes that fail to address battery problems and result in wasted cycle life and time spent unnecessarily reconditioning batteries. However, the impres charger automatically customizes its operation to the user’s unique charging habits. Place a radio with a smart battery in the charger and the system will charge it, recondition it if necessary, keep it fully charged over time while controlling damaging heat build up, and notify you if the battery is beyond its useful life.

These features help maximize battery operating time between charge cycles by virtually eliminating memory effect in nickel based battery chemistry. This makes impres ideal for those applications that require equipment in a ready state at all times, or for 24/7 shift-work environments where employees are not ultimately responsible for one particular radio. In addition, if partially charged batteries are briefly removed from the charger, they can be replaced and the charging cycle picks up right where it left off.

The impres charger is actually three units in one: A rapid charger, a conditioning charger and a re-conditioner. As a result, the impres system automatically performs a recondition cycle only when required (no guess work; no wasted cycle life!). The system’s automation and unique identification feature also usually eliminates the need to manually track and record battery usage.

With ‘plug-and-play’ single and multi-unit chargers, you can decentralise battery maintenance by assigning chargers to individual users. Impres chargers can also handle legacy batteries; in fact, the multi-unit chargers can simultaneously charge legacy and impres batteries.
